From the beautiful tree-lined estate section of Shirley, past Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge, to lunch at South Haven Park, through Old Yaphank, and all the way to Cathedral Pines - LI2Day walkers enjoy a one-of-a-kind scenic experience, engaging in the beauty of Long Island that often goes unseen in the hustle and bustle of daily life.

SATURDAY
  • Begin at Smith Point Park (DARE Area)
  • Exit to bridge and proceed to William Floyd Parkway
  • Left onto Havenwood Drive West
  • Right onto Smith Rd
  • Right onto Carmen View Drive (2.3 miles); Rest Stop #1 & Cheering Area #1
  • Left onto Breston Drive West
  • Right onto Propose Rd
  • Left onto Ranch Drive
  • Right onto Smith Rd
  • Entrance To Wertheim Preserve; Rest Stop #2
  • Continue Straight
  • Left onto Montauk Highway to Rest Stop #3
  • Across from South Haven Elementary School (7.0 miles); Rest Stop #4 & Cheering Area # 2
  • Continue Straight
  • Right onto Route 16
  • Right onto Victory Avenue (Sign indicating Southaven Park)
  • Continue for 1 mile (8.5miles); Rest Stop #5 & Cheering Area #3
  • Left onto Old River Rd
  • Left at Southaven Park Campground Entrance (9.6 miles); Rest Stop #5 & Cheering Area #3
  • Exit picnic area to park trails that parallel Old River Rd
  • Exit at Gate H Follow Old River Rd
  • Before Railroad Tunnel (11.8 miles); Rest Stop #7
  • Proceed straight
  • Left onto Moriches Middle Island Rd (becomes Main St at LIE) Continue To Yaphank Fire Department; Rest Stop #8 & Cheering Area #4
  • Exit FH right onto Main Street
  • Left onto Mill Rd, bear right to stay on Mill Rd
  • Mill Road, just past golf course clubhouse; Rest Stop #9
  • Right on to Granny Rd
  • Granny Park Ball Field (17.0 miles); Rest Stop #10 & Cheering Area #4
  • Left onto Ashton Rd
  • Right onto East Bartlett Rd., Left at Park entrance (19.5 miles), Proceed to Mobile City (20.0 miles); Rest Stop #11 DINNER
SUNDAY
  • Leave Campsite
  • Left onto East Bartlett Rd
  • Right onto Middle Island Yaphank Rd
  • Left onto Main St
  • Continue To Yaphank Fire Department; Rest Stop #1 & Cheering Area #1
  • Right onto Main St and to Yaphank Ave
  • Right onto Yaphank Ave
  • John J. Foley Skilled Nursing Facility (4.0 miles); Rest Stop #2 & Cheering Area #2
  • Left onto Gerrard Rd
  • Right onto Victory Ave (6.0 miles); Rest Stop #3 & Cheering Area #3
  • Left onto Route 16
  • Left onto Montauk Highway
  • Proceed to South Haven Elementary School (7.5 miles); Rest Stop #4 & Cheering Area #4
  • Right onto Smith (9.0 miles); Rest Stop #5
  • Entrance To Wertheim Preserve; Rest Stop #6
  • Left onto Ranch Drive
  • Right onto Propose RD
  • Right onto Margin Drive West
  • Right onto Carmen View Drive
  • Left onto Smith Rd (12.2 miles); Rest Stop #7 & Cheering Area #5
  • Left onto Havenwood
  • Right onto William Floyd
  • Smith Point Marina; Rest Stop #8 Lunch
  • Exit Marina & process across the Smith Point Bridge to the DARE area And Closing Ceremonies

* There are 6-7 scheduled rest stops, including lunch on Sunday, and 4 cheering areas for family members.
